Bush tears up environmental rule book
(20 Nov 2008 11:00:00 PST)
Business Green: Outgoing US presidents traditionally use their last few months in office to leave some kind of legacy, an indelible sense of their administration's defining philosophy. It looks as if George W Bush is not about to break with tradition. If you are being generous, the philosophy Bush is attempting to enshrine as the removal vans close in on the Oval Office is one of laissez faire, pro-business, light touch regulation. To the president's critics the last few days of the Bush White ...

Quito Chooses InfoWorks WS for Ambitious Mains Improvement Program
(Fri, 10 Oct 2008 00:00:00 GMT)
Quito, the capital city of the South American country of Ecuador, is using InfoWorks WS as part of an ambitious program to bring ‘best in class’ water supplies to its citizens. Quito is sited in north-central Ecuador, on the slopes of the Pichincha volcano, which makes managing the city’s potable water network a challenge in terms of complexity and the water pressures involved.
Xavier Vidal, who works for the environmental sanitation program of Empresa Metropolitana de Alcantarillado y Agua Potable de Quito (EMAAP-Q, the city’s metropolitan company for water supply and sanitation), says the...

Management, who from their home base in Geneva - next to packaged water
giant Nestlé and close to Lyon, home of the world's first water
concession in 1853 - decided to launch in 2000 the Water Fund, the
